Department Summary
The School of Public Health (SPH) and the Center for Health Policy (CHP) at The University of North Texas Health Science Center (HSC) jointly seek two open-rank, non-tenure-track faculty candidates committed to advancing public health, health policy, research, community engagement and education. Teaching responsibilities will be within the SPH, which offers CEPH-accredited programs including the MPH, MS, and PhD, and the CAHME-accredited MHA degree program. The school is expanding its focus on public health policy and exploring the possibility of offering related academic degree programs. Teaching responsibilities within CHP will be inclusive of research capacity building for individuals and community organizations, non-credit course curriculum development and research mentorship roles.
Public health and health policy significantly influence health outcomes. We welcome faculty candidates dedicated to advancing research, community engagement and education in these domains including but not limited to addressing social and political determinants of health, disease prevention, health education and promotion, environmental health, safety standards for food, water, and transportation, restrictions on harmful products and deceptive marketing, misinformation, emergency preparedness, social justice, global health and health equity.
Position Summary: The Department of Public Health Education in the School of Public Health and Center for Health Policy at the University of North Texas in Fort Worth is seeking an outstanding faculty colleague at Assistant Professor rank. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, 12-month position, subject to availability of funding. The Health Ethics, Health Law, and Humanities Assistant Professor will have a joint appointment in School of Public Health and Center for Health Policy.
Position Summary
Minimum Qualifications
  • A terminal degree (PhD, DrPH, MD, DO, DNP, PharmD or equivalent) in public health, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, health policy, public policy, social science or a related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in public health and health policy
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and curriculum development at the graduate level
  • Demonstrated experience as an independent investigator/researcher with ability to secure external research funding
