Job Description:

The Department of Chemistry at the University at Albany, State University of New York (SUNY), seeks to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the Associate Professor rank in Analytical Chemistry. One of the preferred research focuses of the position is Forensic Chemistry. The new hire is expected to enhance the existing strengths of the Chemistry Department (https://www.albany.edu/chemistry ) and establish collaborations in Chemistry, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the College of Engineering & Applied Sciences.

Applicants must address their ability to work with and instruct a culturally diverse population. Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • A Ph.D. in Chemistry from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
  • Applicants must address in their application their ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Chemistry                      
  • Applicants must have a record of research in the field            
  • Applicants must have a record of seeking external funding for their research.

Professional Rank and Salary Range: Associate Professor, 10 months
