The Brooks School of Public Policy and the Department of Economics at Cornell University invite applications for an Associate or Full Professor of Economics & Public Policy. We seek to hire two scholars working on policy-relevant topics with demonstrated excellence in research and teaching. We welcome applicants across all substantive areas of research but are particularly interested in those with scholarly expertise in the following areas of economics: Health; Education; Race, Racism and Public Policy; and Data Science.
The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary hiring initiative at Cornell’s new Brooks School of Public Policy, with an appointment in the Department of Economics and the Brooks School. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Economics, Public Policy, or related field.

The Cornell Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy is tackling complex U.S. and global societal challenges. We develop practical solutions that policymakers and other decisionmakers can use to improve the health and prosperity of our population. We are doing this in ways that resonate with Cornell’s unique strengths as an institution to quickly position the Brooks School as a leading school of public policy in the U.S. In service to these goals, we seek to hire several world-class public policy research scholars oriented toward policy engagement and impact across a variety of disciplines.
Pay Range:
$93,800.00 - $229,800.00
Pay Ranges:
The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:
- Prior relevant work or industry experience.
- Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
- Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)
- Unique applicable skills.
