Position Summary
The Executive Ph.D. Program in Urban Higher Education in the College of Education and Human Development invites applications for the Associate/Full Professor position.

Qualifications


Minimum Required Education
Must have a terminal Degree in Higher Education, Educational Administration.
Minimum Required Experience
Must have at least seven (7) years of experience in advising doctoral student dissertation and serving on dissertation committees.

Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with:
  • At least 6-7 years of teaching experience in a tenured position with a record of peer-reviewed publications at an R2 institution or above.
  • Professional experience as a practitioner in higher education, such as student affairs, alumni & development, academic support, accessibility resources, enrollment management, and leadership in administration.
  • A demonstrated ability to teach a diverse population of students.
  • Evidence of successful leadership of a program, initiative, or department.
  • Successful record of grant writing and funding.
  • Demonstrated experience with innovative teaching approaches, online course delivery, internship coordination, and s supervision of graduate students.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to develop and teach courses in person and online through traditional, hybrid, and accelerated formats.
  • Potential to develop a successful research agenda in the spirit and experience in professional development and community activities that reflect a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion issues.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong functional relationships with a wide range of faculty, leaders, and staff within the College of Education and the Executive Urban Higher Education Program at Jackson State University.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teaching load of three (3) classes per year.
  • Advising doctoral students in higher education research concepts.
  • Serving as Chair and on dissertation committees.
  • Engage in research and publications.
  • Participating in program events such as orientation, graduation, student celebrations, faculty/staff retreats, and other general events.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
