The Ivy League, a Division I athletics conference office located in Princeton, N.J., seeks applications for the position of Associate Executive Director Compliance and Governance. The Ivy League office is located on the Princeton University campus and uses Princeton University's Human Resources.

 

The Ivy League Associate Executive Director for Compliance and Governance serves as a member of the conference office senior management team and manages the compliance and governance functions of the Ivy League conference office. Those duties include supervising the Assistant Executive Director for Compliance and Governance, coordinating NCAA governance matters, educating member institutions on NCAA and Ivy League regulations, directing the Ivy League legislative processes, and advising senior athletics department personnel from the eight Ivy League institutions regarding complex rules interpretations and confidential situations.

 

 



NCAA AND IVY LEAGUE RULES COMPLIANCE
•      Manage the conference's NCAA and Ivy League compliance program, supporting Ivy League institutions in their responsibilities to understand and comply with NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations.

•      Direct a comprehensive NCAA and Ivy League rules education program, including conducting regular meetings of the Ivy League compliance directors.

•      Provide advice and counsel to Ivy League compliance directors and other senior athletic department staff members in interpreting Ivy League and NCAA rules, and with investigating and processing rules violations.

•      Oversee processing of all conference violations and waivers.

•      Manage and maintain electronic and paper records.

 

IVY LEAGUE GOVERNANCE
•      Prepare materials and reports, and present at meetings of the Ivy League Policy Committee, Committee on Administration, and various coach and ad hoc committees.

•      Oversee the Ivy League legislative process and production of the Ivy League Manual.

•      Manage the activities of the Ivy League Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Faculty Athletics Representatives.

•      Serve as a liaison to several Ivy League coach groups.

 

 NCAA GOVERNANCE
•      Coordinate Ivy League participation in NCAA governance matters, including preparing Ivy League representatives in the NCAA governance structure for meetings and votes, gathering feedback and recommending Ivy League positions on NCAA legislation.

•      Manage the Ivy League nominations process for NCAA committees.

•      Serve on NCAA committees within the NCAA governance structure, representing Ivy League interests.

•      Track NCAA governance matters for reporting to various Ivy League committees and provide Ivy League feedback to the NCAA.

 

CONFERENCE OPERATIONS
•      Manage, develop, and direct the work of the Ivy League Assistant Executive Director for Compliance and Governance.

•      Serve as a member of the Ivy League office senior management team.

•      Participate in staff meetings and assist with special projects as needed.

•       Manage Ivy League championship and playoff events as needed.

 

The final candidate will be required to successfully complete a background check.

 



Essential Qualifications:

 

The successful candidate must have 8-10 years of professional experience working in college athletics, with expertise in NCAA Division I compliance and governance. A bachelor’s degree is required, and a master's degree or equivalent advanced degree is preferred. The ability to work with limited direction and supervision, and to manage, direct and develop staff members are important qualifications. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, writing and communication skills are essential. The preferred candidate would be proficient in the use of technology, including Microsoft Office and internet communication tools. Must be enthusiastic to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and willing to work select nights and weekends.
