Location: Davis, CALIFORNIA
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: ;

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Mondavi Center’s Associate Executive Director (AED) has significant overall responsibility for the achievement of organizational goals in performing arts, arts education, and community and campus engagement and service. The AED plays a leadership role in developing and implementing goals, strategies, structure, and the application of resources in service of the mission of the Mondavi Center and UC Davis.
In the absence of the Executive Director, the AED acts as the functional organizational head and the “public face” of the Mondavi Center. The AED also supports fundraising efforts and helps devise customer service and operational standards that ensure a healthy organization, a positive public reputation, and a financially sound business model. The AED monitors and recommends improvements for operational functions relating to customer service, the performance facility, and technical production.
This position also serves as the Mondavi Center’s Director of Programming (DOP). The DOP administers a presenting program of 40-50 annual performances across a wide and diverse array of genres. In constant collaboration with the Executive Director and the Assistant Director of Programming, the DOP programs each season of performances. The DOP also helps determine the Mondavi Center’s artistic mission and vision, nationally positioning the center as a leading presenter of the performing arts, a major arts education institution, and an innovator in presentation practices. Through the Mondavi Center’s programming, the DOP supports the diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion goals of UC Davis. This position also oversees the Mondavi Center’s efforts in arts education. Through supervision of the Director of Arts Education and Artist Engagement, the AED/DOP ensures that arts education activities align with the Center’s artistic mission, and that they are effectively developed and targeted to meet the needs of students, UC Davis faculty, K-12 teachers, and general audiences. Through arts education and engagement offerings, the AED/DOP ensures that the Mondavi Center’s presenting program is integrated into the intellectual life of UC Davis.
Regular travel to industry conferences and performances, for artistic planning purposes, is a requirement of this position.
