Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
The Wood Center exists to enrich the real estate experience at UNC Kenan-Flagler for its students, faculty, alumni and employers. Specifically, the Wood Center is responsible for a number of initiatives that together yield innovative programing, invested faculty and staff, and engaged alumni. The result is a Real-World Real Estate experience for UNC Kenan-Flagler’s students.
The Associate Director position will lead and shape all MBA-oriented academic and career-focused programs within the Wood Center, working in close partnership with the MBA program. The Associate Director will be responsible for the entire MBA real estate student journey, and will take a primary role in recruiting new students into the program as well as delivering real estate career-related content and coaching during students’ time in the program. In this position, the Associate Director will regularly partner with real estate faculty, real estate alumni, and the MBA Real Estate Club, as well as numerous offices within the MBA program. In addition, the Associate Director will strategically structure and manage the Wood Center’s alumni outreach program with the goal of driving alumni engagement resulting in enhanced fundraising and student employment outcomes. The Associate Director will work with a committee of the Wood Center Advisory Board to develop strategy for engaging alumni in key geographic markets and establish ways for alumni to use their talents to give back to the UNC Real Estate Program.
The Associate Director reports directly to the Executive Director of the Wood Center.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of student support functions, will accept a relevant Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and at least 1 year of relevant experience in substitution.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
The selected candidate must have a passion for real estate and a genuine desire to work with students on a daily and personal basis. Ability to travel 10% – 15% of time for student and/or alumni events.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Prior experience in an academic center or similar educational administrative experience is highly desired.
* Experience working with a wide range of diverse groups and individuals including undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, businesses, university partners, and their alumni in order to develop an inclusive and supportive community.
* Experience in academic program management, academic advising, student coaching, alumni engagement, and/or working with diverse populations.
* Experience with developing and delivering high caliber presentations.
* Relationship management and client-servicing skills and experience with customer service at an executive level.
* Advanced project management skills.
* Experience in program evaluation, data analysis, and reporting.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
Campus Security Authority Responsibilities

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
