Description of Work
Associate Director will have two main areas of responsibility:
• Operations – The Associate Director will direct all activities related to the operation of the CSMCE, enabling the Center to administer a wide variety of projects, grants, meetings, conferences, graduate education for STEM teachers, and other activities in partnership with faculty from a wide range of STEM and STEM education departments at UNL.
• Communications – The Associate Director will develop and implement a branding and communications plan for the CSMCE and individualize the plan to the needs of individual projects, thus adding value to services provided by the CSMCE and underscoring the impact of the research, teaching and outreach supported by the CSMCE.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience in a grant funded environment with either administrative or communications responsibilities. Must have strong communication skills both oral and written, knowledge of Microsoft Office software, publishing software, and web design. Ability to communicate effectively with K-12 and collegiate personnel essential.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred. At least one year working in a higher education environment or a fundraising environment desirable. Experience in an administrative position that includes supervision of staff and a record of working effectively with university faculty. Experience with public relations and publications. Prioritizing multiple competing demands on time, working under short deadlines and high-pressure situations, and ability to edit and write technical documents with minimal oversight. Experience designing with Adobe Creative Cloud desirable but not essential.
