Scope of Position  

The Associate Director of Operations, Ross Heart Hospital, has responsibility for providing leadership and oversight of day-to-day operations of the Ross Heart Hospital.  The Associate Director is responsible for execution of the one-year hospital operating plan and contributing to development of and management to the business unit operating budget.  The Associate Director will also have oversight of multiple teams in the Ross Heart Hospital, including Perfusion, Echosonography and Vascular Ultrasonography, Capacity Management and Transfer Center Operations Liaison, and ongoing Process Improvement teams and initiatives throughout the hospital.  The position has oversight of >50 clinical and clinical support FTE and supports an annual operating budget of >$350M.

Position Summary

The Associate Director supports the Associate Executive Director of the Ross Heart Hospital and Heart & Vascular Center in implementing and executing the inpatient hospital operational priorities related to Enterprise, Hospital Division and Heart & Vascular Service Line goals.  This includes contributing to the one-year operating budget; development of and management of annual KPI consistent with enterprise strategic pillars and priorities; oversight of a portfolio of operational improvement projects throughout the hospital.  The Associate Director will also provide oversight of several clinical and non-clinical support teams or individuals across the hospital.  Additionally, the Associate Director will serve as the primary responsible party for the facility, including environment of care, accreditation and rounding needs and facility renovation projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Health Administration, Business or other related field strongly preferred. 

  • 7 years in clinical operations or healthcare management experience required, experience within ambulatory and hospital setting preferred. 

  • Experience leading and implementing Lean Six Sigma projects.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects. 

  • Ability to learn new systems software. 

  • Independent and self-motivated.
