Job Summary

The Associate Director of Learning Network is responsible for building a content portfolio and production pipeline to ensure that the Institute remains an authoritative and innovative voice in its areas of study. Overseeing a team of instructional design and content production managers, the Associate Director will build out highly impactful online content offerings, events, networking activities, short programs, and in person symposia and conferences, while piloting additional models that connect insights from research to the Digital Data Design Institute (D3) community.

The Associate Director is primarily responsible for overseeing program development and delivery, including building strong relationships with subject matter experts, developing innovative hybrid content and curricula, convening impactful events both online and in-person, and fostering a diverse and inclusive community that unites Harvard with firms and future leaders across D3’s areas of focus.


Position Description

Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee a team of Learning Network Managers with expertise in instructional design and delivery, and digital content development.
  • Design, plan and implement a structure to manage Learning Network activities, including content development and production, hybrid event management, community engagement through learning activities, and live program development and delivery; responsibilities include some legal and budgetary management.
  • Utilize data to help inform strategic content and program delivery decisions to ensure that our digital learning content makes an exponential impact on business leaders.
  • Build evaluation frameworks to drive continuous improvement that increases efficiency and improves participant and SME satisfaction.
  • Work with industry experts, D^3 lab managers, and faculty to prioritize development of learning modules focused on D^3’s areas of focus: AI & The Future of Business; Future of Work; Performance and Metrics; Human-Centered Technology; New Operating Models and Business Models; Data, Privacy, Security, and Regulation.
  • Oversee strategy and practice for engaging Learning Network community participants to promote high levels of engagement.
  • Develop, empower, and coach Learning Network teams to reach potential.
  • Foster an environment of innovation and high quality service.
  • Set operational goals and key performance indicators to measure and continuously improve team performance and results.
  • Take on special assignments as needed to mature and grow the organization.
  • This role is responsible for other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 10+ years of relevant experience required

The Associate Director of Learning Network will bring proven project management skills, a creative problem-solving approach, a deep understanding of the best practices and norms related to a successful educational experience, and the ability to manage and motivate a team in a unique, fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven ability to work with an evolving agenda, and will bring organizational, interpersonal, and consultative skills to the position.

The Associate Director must be self-motivated, feel confident articulating the mission of D3 internally and externally, and have experience developing a team that is comfortable working in a fast-paced and growing organization.

Additional Qualifications 

  • Experience refining and scaling processes in a start-up environment.
  • Knowledge of the online learning ecosystem including products, opportunities, competition, and trends.
  • Strong sense of ownership and dedication to accomplish goals and succeed.
  • Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding target goals.
  • Proven track record in organizing and managing cross-functional teams (design, engineering, content, operations, customer service, marketing and business) to solve complex problems.

Additional Information

This role is offered as a hybrid (some combination of onsite and remote) where you are required to be onsite at our Boston, MA based campus 3 days per week. Specific days and schedule will be determined between you and your manager.
