What We're Looking For

The Associate Director of Communications is responsible for coordinating outgoing messaging to shape, enhance and protect the Baylor Athletics brand and image through verbal and digital communication with media and constituents. 

A Bachelor's degree, two years relevant experience, and an active Christian faith are required. A Master's Degree and five years relevant experience are preferred. Experience will not be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.

Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis. 

What You Will Do

  • Leadership : Serve as the primary public relations practitioner and media liaison for assigned sports. Collaborate with other members of the athletics communications team to serve all 19 sport programs. 
  • Operations : Assist with all media needs pre- and post- competition. Ensure flow of information (social media, statistics, video, press releases, etc.) are timely and accurate. Maintain historical archives to ensure program history is preserved for future generations. Travel with assigned programs and assist with coverage of additional programs as necessary.
  • Brand Monitoring & Messaging : Monitor public perception of assigned athletic programs and coordinate strategic messaging to media and public.
  • Communication : Maintain communication with coaches and administration relative to media requests and team statistics.
  • Compliance : Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and institution rules and regulations and to communicate immediately any possible infractions of such rules and regulations to the Athletics Compliance staff.
  • Other Duties : Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission.
  • Ability to comply with University policies.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
