Position Summary:

The Associate Director of Admissions Operations assists the university in meeting its recruitment and enrollment objectives by supervising the processing of applications, managing the computer-based admission system, providing data required for management decisions, administering the undergraduate admission policy, following up with admitted students via electronic communication, extracting data, providing statistical reports, updating website content, and training admissions processing staff. The Associate Director supports the student recruitment effort as needed and performs other activities as assigned by the Director of Admissions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Create and maintain admission applications; support the application processing function at peak times by entering data, scanning and uploading documents, creating admission files and admitting.

Implement new policies and procedures based on software systems (Banner, Xtender, Argos) while supporting the prospect recruit module.

Develop a competent, productive, and effective staff by selecting and supervising, directly and through delegation, designated clerical support personnel.

Ensure effective and efficient processing of applications by supervising the processing of admissions applications, transcripts, and all trailing documents, monitoring achievement of office goals for response time, and providing direction and supervision to the evaluation staff.

Managing office operations to ensure correct and timely data entry for purposes of reporting and evaluation and will mine, audit, and analyze data (including Google Analytics) to positively influence recruitment strategies.

Support student recruitment efforts by understanding the data stored in the SIS database, maintaining the integrity of the data entered into the database, and understanding and properly using the data extracted from the database.

Provide expertise in data retrieval for multiple systems and produce frequent admission reports.

Enhance, create, and implement timely and accurate execution of current and new electronic communications to external audiences. 

Assure monthly monitoring of the admissions website for accuracy and usability, including frequent revision/updating of admission information and applications.

Process college entrance exam score uploads.

Update/enhance the current Banner training manual and provide on campus training to others.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Demonstrated project oversight and database experience (such as, Banner, Xtender, Argos). Advanced word processing, office applications, scheduling/organizing, and presentation skills are required.

Intermediate or above knowledge of spreadsheets and databases is required.

Experience with office management; to include, hiring, training, and assessment.

Ability to collect and analyze data, problem-solve and recommend initiatives based on findings; willingness to research and apply appropriate technology to reach pre-determined goals.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; as well as, customer service skills.

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree is required.

Three years of experience in admissions or a closely related function, as well as competency in the use of query tools and application software, and supervisory experience of full-time employees required.
