ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, DONOR AND ALUMNI EVENTS, Sloan School of Management-Office of External Relations (OER), to lead the events team and supervise three direct reports who as a team, create and execute fifty-plus worldwide alumni and donor events for over 23,000 alumni and 4,600 donors. Will--in partnership with the director--develop event strategy for the Sloan alumni community based on a deep understanding of the philanthropic needs and priorities of the organization, interests of the alumni community, and individual stewardship of the donors; work with faculty, senior leadership, and administration to develop event-specific strategies based on the goals of the events; partner with development colleagues, senior leadership, administration, and faculty to drive, develop, and execute event strategies to ensure engagement and development goals are met; and develop innovative programming based on interests and/or school priority.
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; minimum of five years’ event planning experience and ability to apply skills across a variety of events; strong event strategy and project management experience; meticulous attention to detail; ability to direct/guide others to plan events to the highest standards; experience working closely with and influencing faculty, senior leadership, and administration; excellent interpersonal, presentation, customer service, and written and verbal communication skills and ability to develop trusted partnerships with staff; experience working with vendors, senior staff, and administration; initiative; proficiency with alumni databases and standard PC applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint); and strong organizational skills. Seek a self-starter who is able to set goals and priorities in a demanding, fast-paced environment. Event planning experience in a university or a professional school strongly preferred. Experience working with a mid-career alumni population would be extremely valuable. Job #14375-P
