ROLE SUMMARY
Support projects across all Research Units that require the knowledge and application of imaging.
- Serve as a member of a team of imaging scientists that work together to support the needs of the portfolio (both clinically and preclinically) and are aligned with the overall imaging strategy of the organization.
- Work across all phases of development and therapeutic areas to develop imaging biomarkers to ensure they are robust and suitable for quantitative decision making in innovative drug discovery.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify opportunities for preclinical imaging biomarkers to address knowledge gaps within teams and advance the portfolio:
- Advise teams on relevant emerging or established imaging endpoints, with a primary focus on MRI- based endpoints
- Manage execution of preclinical imaging studies with external academic and industrial partners
Guide implementation of imaging in clinical trials:
- Advise on appropriate imaging biomarkers and endpoints
- Provide input on study protocols and imaging-specific trial documents
- Assist in selection of imaging core labs and external imaging collaborators
- Provide oversight of image-related trial conduct and imaging deliverables
- Maintain cutting-edge knowledge of the imaging field:
- Stay current with major advances and emerging trends, focusing on the MRI/MRS field
- Maintain excellent links with academic teams worldwide
- Educate research and clinical teams on the values and limitations of imaging biomarkers
- Work across other biomarker teams within the Translational Clinical Sciences-Biomeasures, Endpoints, and Study Technologies organization to develop holistic and impactful biomarker plans
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Engineering or a relevant discipline
- Minimum 4 years of related MRI experience in a pharmaceutical environment or MRI industry
- Post-graduate studies focusing on MRI
- Deep knowledge of the magnetic resonance physics and signal processing
- Experience with design and implementation of interventional clinical imaging trials.
- Experience in at least one of the following disease areas: Metabolic, Inflammatory, Cardiovascular, or Oncology
- Experience with preclinical science and preclinical imaging data and translating that information into the clinic.
- Experience developing and expanding networks with key opinion leaders in the imaging field.
- Strong communication skills-verbal, written and presentation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience applying techniques across multiple therapeutic areas
- Basic science knowledge of preclinical and clinical imaging in one of the following modalities: CT, X-ray, or ultrasound

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $131,200.00 to $218,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
