Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
 

The Assistant Website, Marketing and Communications Manager’s responsibilities include overseeing and managing all forms of Marketing and Communications (print, digital, social media) for in-store, website, internal Belmont and external to the community. This manager is responsible for managing the BruinShop website, maintaining current item/category information and photos on the store website, and ensuring inventory is accurate and available.   Responsibility also includes overseeing and managing website customer service; shipping, returns and customer relationship building and communication.  Ideal candidate will have potential for rapid growth in responsibility.


Essential Functions:


Website

  • Manage system input and data detail to ensure optimal functionality of the website.
  • Oversee management of current on-hand information and inventory detail (Div/Dept/Category/Class/Size/Color) on the store website through consistent communication and system process with the Senior Buyer, Buyer and
  • Store Director for inventory on hand minimums, needed reorders, merchandise assortment recommendations.
  • Website maintenance; have working knowledge of technical aspect of the Store's website through training working with MBS, the ERP/POS/Website provider. Manage system input and data detail to ensure optimal functionality of the website.
  • Evaluate emerging web technologies and trends through research and ongoing review of high-quality e-commerce websites and competition.
  • Manage daily website sales transactions and record keeping.
  • Plan and manage customer relationship programs and rewards programs as determined by the Store Director.
  • In conjunction with Manager of Marketing Communications and Website (MCW) hire and oversee student workers as needed for website data entry, fulfillment/shipping, photography and graphic design.
  • In conjunction with MCW Manger, manage online order fulfillment; oversee process to fill and ship orders timely and efficiently.

Marketing

  • Execute promotional events, marketing efforts, and brand awareness on the website and in the store as directed by Director, Senior Buyer and Manager MCW.
  • Collaborate with Store Director, Senior Buyer as directed by the Manager MCW to recommend and plan promotional events and marketing efforts on the website and in the store. Oversee management of current on-hand information and inventory.
  • Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics, such as sales data, website traffic, and social media engagement, to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven decisions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, consumer behavior, and emerging marketing techniques to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
  • Assist Manager MCW with management of social media.

Communications

  • Assist in managing relationships with internal Belmont and external stakeholders for all Belmont Store communication and marketing needs. Assist in developing content for all Belmont stakeholder newsletters.
  • Assist in managing student Ambassador Team, including hiring, scheduling, creating photoshoot content objectives, overseeing photoshoots and ensuring the team is meeting individual posting requirements.
  • Assist in managing in-store and event signing.

Leadership

  • Help provide supervision and leadership to all retail store employees.
  • Have regular interactions with students and other customers. Will provide outstanding customer service whether online, over the phone or in person.
  • Must know all Store opening and closing procedures. Must be able to operate the store point-of-sale system and assume cashier duties any time customer volume is high.
  • Provide operations coverage as needed with the ability to work flexible hours.
  • Assist with receiving and stocking of the general merchandise as needed.

The starting salary range for this role is $40,000 - $50,000 annually.

  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
   
Required Education University degree in Business, Education or related field preferred. High School completion required. Relevant combination of education and experience considered.
  
Required Experience University Bookstore or retail store, website management and marketing experience preferred.
