The Department of Psychology at Bowling Green State University invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor position (full-time, 9-month, one-year, nonrenewable) in Psychology starting August 2024.

The Department of Psychology is located within the College of Arts and Sciences. The College strives to foster and sustain an engaging culture of discovery, creativity, teaching, learning, and collaboration, enriched by a diversity of experiences and perspectives. We are especially interested in recruiting candidates who can contribute, through their teaching, scholarly/creative work, and/or service, to our efforts to meet the challenge of achieving inclusive excellence in our academic community. The College takes a cohort-based approach to faculty success, providing resources and support within the Dean’s Office and through collaboration with Arts and Sciences departments and schools, leadership teams in other colleges, and university-serving partners such as the Center for Faculty Excellence. The Department of Psychology at BGSU enjoys a nationally ranked doctoral program that offers specializations in clinical, industrial-organizational, developmental, and neural-cognitive sciences. In all, the department includes 22 faculty members, approximately 95 graduate students, and over 600 undergraduate majors. The faculty are committed to excellence in teaching and research. The department fosters an inclusive environment through faculty participation in the NSF-funded ALLIES program, a student-led committee focused on issues related to underrepresented groups, and efforts to weave attention to cultural awareness throughout clinical training. Essential Functions

  • Teach a variety of undergraduate courses such as introductory psychology, statistics, social psychology, industrial-organizational psychology, or psychopathology


Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Psychology or sub-field of Psychology (e.g., Social Psychology, Clinical Psychology)
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate level as a TA or instructor of record
