JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position in Journalism at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor.

Education and Experience: We are seeking a journalist with outstanding broadcast experience. A Master’s degree in Journalism or a related field is required. The ideal candidate will have superior skills and experience in broadcast news and be able to comfortably teach television reporting and production but will also have experience and interest in areas such as podcasting, multimedia creation, radio reporting, social media and data journalism. Active in professional organizations a plus.

The appointee will be a faculty member in the Department of Journalism, starting in Fall 2024.

The Department of Journalism is part of the Bellisario College, one of the largest accredited communication programs in the nation. The college has an active student media ecosystem and is home to the NewsLab at Penn State. Students and faculty routinely work together on impactful journalism projects that are published professionally and compete for industry awards.
