Assistant Teaching Professor of Flute (qualified rank faculty), one academic year (nine-month) appointment in the Department of Music Performance Studies, beginning August 2024.

Bowling Green State University’s College of Musical Arts has earned a reputation as one of the country’s outstanding collegiate music programs. The College enrolls approximately 470 students under the guidance of 55 full-time and 25 part-time faculty. Our comprehensive music curriculum features specialties in music education and contemporary music, including the distinctive DMA in Contemporary Music. Essential Functions

Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate applied flute, coaching chamber music, undergraduate and graduate recruiting, advising, contributing to the artistic and intellectual life of the College and University, and maintaining a current profile as a flute performer and pedagogue in state, regional and national activities. Other duties will be assigned by the Chair or Dean depending upon the needs of the Department of Music Performance Studies and the College of Musical Arts.


Minimum Qualifications

1.  Earned Doctorate or master’s degree in Flute Performance with two years of professional performing and/or teaching experience
2. Teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred
3. Professional performing experience in all facets of flute performance (e.g. solo, chamber, and orchestral music)
