ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR, 2nd SHIFT

Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following position: Assistant Supervisor, 2nd Shift in the Custodial Services Department.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Clean all surfaces and items in assigned areas.
· Maintain flooring in designated areas.
· Remove trash from designated areas.
· Assists supervisor with the upkeep of custodial supply closets in all buildings; orders and replenishes supplies as needed.
· Promote and use best safety practices.
· Assists with preparing annual employment plans and reviews. Assists with approving online time entry for employees and employee leave time. Performs as the acting supervisor in the absence of the shift supervisor.
Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of two (2) years custodial experience is required. One (1) year of supervisory experience is preferred. A valid South Carolina driver’s license is required.

Building/ Grounds Specialist III (KA15/ 61121614/ FTE-S00995P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 03. Minimum starting salary $31,200.00. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Must be able to work overtime; before start of shift, at end of shift, weekends, etc.
Required Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum two years custodial experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum one year supervisory experience.
Licensure and/or Certification
Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of good custodial practices and an understanding of cleaning products and equipment available. Must be able to operate extractors, buffers, burnishers, vacuum cleaners, wet/dry vacs, mop/broom and have a working knowledge and experience with cleaners and chemicals. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to deal with constant interruptions and communicate effectively. Ability to inventory, order, and maintain supplies as needed. Ability to work independently and supervise staff. Must be able to learn and operate computer programs used for inventorying, time entry, customer service, communication, and care of buildings. Ability to complete work assignments under deadlines.
