The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Registrar on the Dahlonega campus. This position is responsible for various duties within the Registrar's Office. This position coordinates the process of evaluating transcripts for eligible transfer credit and the posting of transfer credit in the Banner Student Information System in accordance with University System of Georgia (USG) and UNG policies and procedures. This position also assists with the enrollment process for other populations of students as well as managing policies and procedures. Some evening and/or weekend hours and travel are required.

  • Evaluates and articulates transfer credit for new, current, and returning transfer students in the Banner Student Information System.
  • Researches transfer institution and course information for transfer eligibility.
  • Downloads, evaluates, and articulates military credit, Prior Learning Assessment credit, and credit by exam (CLEP, AP, DSST, IB, etc.) in the Banner Student Information System.
  • Assists with the management of Registrar's Office policies and procedures.
  • Manages the transfer evaluation communication plan.
  • Monitors and maintains eligible transfer course table for required reporting to the USG.\Assists with other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, providing support in other functional areas and special projects as needed.

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Must be knowledgeable about FERPA guidelines and UNG and University System of Georgia policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to solve problems and must possess strong organizational skills. 
  • Must be proficient in the use of Web navigation and knowledgeable about basic Windows software.
  • The ability to work under minimal supervision to handle multiple tasks, to maintain accuracy amid interruptions, and prioritize duties. 
  • The ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships through effective oral and written communication with team members, staff, students, faculty, and other individuals
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Two (2) years of transfer credit, data entry, and customer service experience in a higher education setting; 
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ellucian Banner experience preferred. 
  • Minimum of one (1) year direct supervisory experience preferred.
