NATURE AND PURPOSE

Efforts of the Project Scientist will involve several cropping systems (e.g. olives, almonds, pistachios, grapes) and experiments conducted in controlled environmental conditions and field settings typical on commercial orchards and vineyards throughout California. Work will integrate with efforts of other team members involved in the GRAPEX and T-REX projects that aim to develop, refine, and apply remotely sensed tools for use precision management of vineyard and orchard systems. Focus will be on plant physiological links across these measurement scales and involve gas exchange and plant water relations, flux tower measurements of carbon and water exchange, and remote sensing models captured by drones and satellites.'
The Project Scientist makes significant and creative contributions to a research or creative project in his/her academic discipline. The appointee possesses the subject matter expertise and the creative energy necessary to function at a high level of competence.
