The College of Education & Human Development’s Department of Early Childhood and Elementary Education prepares teachers, scholars, community and school leaders in early childhood and elementary education. Students gain extensive content knowledge, hone innovative teaching methods and learn to work effectively within diverse classrooms.

 

The Department of Early Childhood and Elementary Education is seeking to hire an Assistant Project Director.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

This position uses research to develop a full day of professional development for Georgia’s Pre-K teachers. Uses extensive knowledge to confidently develop and deliver engaging presentations across all areas of learning including Mathematics, Early Literacy, Social/Emotional Development and Work Sampling to meet contract deliverables. This work is done both independently & collaboratively.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Creates hands-on developmentally appropriate materials and resources for trainings. 
  • Develops online courses, podcasts and webinars to extend and supplement training. 
  • Independently travels to sites throughout Georgia 2-4 days/week to conduct training. Must have flexibility to accommodate changes in schedule. This includes preparing, setting up and breaking down training materials and AV equipment.
  • Collaborates with team members on special projects.
  • Works closely with Project Director to ensure all deliverables are completed in a timely manner. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

: 

Minimum Requirements:

  • A master's degree and 5 years of experience, or a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Extensive and specific knowledge of Georgia’s Pre-K program, Work Sampling System and developmentally appropriate practice for B-5. 
  • Experienced trainer in early childhood with an established relationship with Bright from the Start.
  • Research and independently develop content specific training using a variety of technology including Power Point/Keynote for presentations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational acumen and a proclivity for attention to the details
  • Able to work on multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
