Position Description:

Assistant Professor Term - Pediatric Audiologist (Clinical)

The University of Louisville Department of Otolaryngology and Communicative Disorders is actively seeking a Pediatric Doctor of Audiology. The ideal candidate should have clinical and operative experience in pediatric audiology. This position will be dually employed by Norton Children's Group (NCMG) and the University of Louisville. The anticipated hiring date for this position is July 1, 2024. University of Louisville Audiology Program (20%)

The academic position includes teaching pediatric related coursework (e.g., pediatrics, educational audiology, special topics) and participating in teaching-related program activities including clinical coordination and student placement management at Norton sites for AUD students, clinical supervision, and serving as a liaison between Norton and the Academic program (e.g., attending faculty meetings, and other meetings as necessary).

Audiology Services at NCMG (80%)

Our team of audiologists, speech-language pathologists and early interventionists specialize in detecting and treating hearing loss. They evaluate hearing, treat hearing loss, and provide advanced care to patients with hearing aids and other assistive devices. Services offered by providers include:

  • Hearing evaluations adapted to the child's age and developmental status.
  • Unsedated and sedated auditory brainstem response (ABR) evaluations.
  • Hearing aid evaluation, fitting and follow-up.
  • Cochlear implant evaluation, programming, and follow-up.
  • Bone-anchored hearing device evaluation, fitting and follow-up.
  • Custom earplugs for swimming and hearing protection.
