Position Description:

The Equine Industry Program at the University of Louisville seeks qualified applicants for a full-time faculty position. This is a non-tenure track position with primary responsibility for undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, and professional service. Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The faculty member will play a critical role in advancing the Equine Industry Program. They will develop and teach courses in the Equine Industry Program at the undergraduate and graduate levels in both face-to-face and online formats. The successful candidate will also be expected to conduct applied research related to equine business and the horse racing industry (including, but not limited to workforce trends, auctions and sales, and racetrack operations).

Qualifications: The successful candidate must hold a graduate degree (MS, MBA, JD, Ph.D., DBA) in equine business, management, strategy, leadership, general business, or a closely related discipline. They will have experience in or demonstrated passion for the equine industry and teaching experience. Experience developing and teaching online courses, as well as experience working with equine industry stakeholders will be considered. Individuals with expertise in horse farm or racetrack operations are particularly desirable.

The Equine Industry Program is on the move and a leader in horse commerce enterprise and academics. It was established in 1986 and is supported by KRS (Kentucky Revised Statute) 230.550. As the only AACSB-accredited equine program in the U.S., the Equine Industry Program provides training and educational opportunities in the horse racing industry relating to, but not limited to, finance, management, marketing, regulation, and administrative aspects of the horse racing industry.
