Job Summary | The Department of Forest Ecosystems & Society in the College of Forestry invites applications for a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed-term, Assistant Professor (Practice) position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Department Head. Given that the majority of the global and U.S. population lives in cities, there is increasing demand for urban foresters who can help cities plan and maintain a sustainable and resilient community in the face of changing environmental and social conditions. This position will provide instruction and extension in urban forestry, green infrastructure, planning, policy, environmental justice, management, and leadership. The incumbent will be a member of the Forest Ecosystems and Society (FES) Department, which provides education, outreach, and research in the areas of forest science, natural resources, tourism, recreation, and adventure leadership. The incumbent will also contribute to the Forestry and Natural Resources (FNR) Extension team that provides non-credit learning experiences on forestry and natural resource issues to a wide range of audiences. What You Will Need |
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months. This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030. |
