Position Summary
The Department of Speech Communication and Theatre in the College of Liberal Arts is accepting applications for a position as Assistant Professor of Speech Communication (Tenure-Track).

Qualifications


Minimum Required Education
Candidates must have terminal degree (PhD) in Speech, Communication Studies, or other relevant discipline by date of appointment.
Minimum Required Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of successful relevant teaching experience at the college level which can include GTA experience.
  • Proven publishing experience in peer-reviewed publications.
Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications
None required.

Candidates who can contribute to creating a more equitable global society that supports diverse cultural experiences through their teaching, research, and service
Skills and Abilities
  • Candidates must be capable of teaching a range of courses within the communication discipline, for general education s students as well as majors and graduate students.
  • The ideal candidate demonstrates experience and versatility in inclusive I pedagogy.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
  • Direct undergraduate theses and projects.
  • Advise undergraduate.
  • Contribute to the intellectual life of the department through individual and collaborative initiatives.
  • Maintain an active research and publishing agenda.
  • Perform departmental and university committee service, attend in-person meetings and events (i.e. commencement).
  • Maintain a schedule for professional development.
