The Psychology Department at EMU has an APA-accredited Clinical Psychology PhD program; MS programs in Clinical Behavioral, General Clinical, and Experimental Psychology; and approximately 800 undergraduate majors. Candidates will be expected to teach a contractual load of graduate-level courses in our Clinical Behavioral MS Program, which is an ABAI Verified Course Sequence that prepares graduates to be eligible for both MS-level psychologist licensure (LLP) and BCBA credentials, and undergraduate-level courses for our Psychology Major with a Concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis. Candidates may mentor graduate student thesis and dissertation research. Faculty who are actively involved in doctoral mentoring receive a reduced teaching load of six credits (approximately two courses) per semester.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to attract, teach, and mentor diverse graduate and undergraduate students in scholarly activities within their respective discipline. Candidates are expected to collaborate with all colleagues and serve the department, the university, the local community, and the field of behavior analysis, and to promote diversity, equity, and inclusivity across their teaching, research, and service activities.

The EMU campus is located in Ypsilanti, a vibrant small city in southeastern Michigan. “Ypsi,” as it is affectionately known, is a welcoming city that has a unique vibe and an eclectic art scene. Ypsilanti is located 5 miles from downtown Ann Arbor, 35 miles west of the Detroit Metropolitan Area and Windsor, Ontario, and 20 miles from Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

They must demonstrate evidence of a strong, transferrable research program within the field of behavior analysis, and the area of specialization within behavior analysis is open (applied, experimental, or conceptual). Ideally, candidates hold or are eligible for certification as Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) by the start of the appointment.
