The Physics Department at Hamilton College invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2023. Candidates for either position are expected to teach a variety of courses from across the physics curriculum, develop a thriving on-campus research program involving undergraduates, and contribute to ongoing departmental efforts to integrate inclusive pedagogies and course content.

For one position we seek an experimental physicist who can teach advanced laboratory courses and supervise hands-on experimental physics senior thesis projects. For the other position, preference will be given to candidates who specialize in experimental physics but we will consider candidates from historically underrepresented demographics regardless of research specialization; additionally for this second position we will also consider candidates who possess experience at the rank of assistant professor.

Candidates with a Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience are preferred, although ABD candidates will be considered.

Candidates must submit the following at http://apply.interfolio.com/112749  : 1)  a cover letter that address ways in which you would further the College's goal of building a diverse and inclusive educational environment, 2) a complete curriculum vitae,  3) names and email addresses for three professional referees, 4) a teaching statement that describes your teaching philosophy and,  5) a statement describing your research, specifically identifying how your research connects with undergraduate physics curriculum and/or could include undergraduates.  Questions regarding the search may be directed to Kate Brown, Search Committee Chair, at [email protected]. Review of applications will begin on  October 15, 2022.
