Job Summary
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications for a full-time faculty position that will begin pending funding, in August 2024. This is a non-tenure track appointment.  The successful candidate will teach primarily introductory classes in mathematics; a limited number of upper-level courses are available. An MS in Mathematics (including at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in mathematics) is required and a PhD in Mathematics is preferred.
The Department values and supports innovative teaching and participation in undergraduate research, and seeks candidates with similar ideals. The faculty member will be an excellent communicator, have strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching. They will participate in departmental and college activities and support the Department’s objectives of mentoring students, through a culture of scholarship, service, and outreach. The candidate will teach a 24 contact-hour load/year, approximately 12/semester.
Concord University is a public, liberal-arts institution with an enrollment of around 1600 students. The University is located in a scenic, small-town setting in the mountains of southern West Virginia with access to year-round outdoor recreation activities. Education/Knowledge


Minimum Education Master's
Required Licenses/Certification
The appointment begins August 2024 and requires a minimum of a master’s degree in Mathematics.

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science has seven full-time faculty. Five Mathematics faculty teach General Education courses and service courses to the University. Two Computer Science faculty teach approximately 70 undergraduate students pursing degree options in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, and Cybersecurity.
Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
