Posting Text | Make an impact in undergraduate elementary education by joining the School of Education, Counseling & Human Development at South Dakota State University (SDSU) as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Elementary Education in Interdisciplinary Mathematics and Science to join our dynamic and growing team. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated professional to join us with experience in elementary education (school or district level) to create, develop, and teach undergraduate K-8 curriculum and methods courses with a primary focus on mathematics and science instruction across all grade levels. To contribute to the SDSU strategic plan, “Pathway to Premier 2023”, the selected candidate must maintain an active research agenda, publication record, and pursue external funding in mathematics and/or science education. They are expected to collaborate in further development of undergraduate and graduate programs in teacher education, and support a dynamic student experience with play, inquiry, creativity, and collaboration. The Teacher Education program is CAEP accredited and offers undergraduate programming in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Special Education, Family and Consumer Sciences Education, and Agricultural Education. This position is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track, benefit-eligible position with the opportunity for summer employment. The position is supervised by the Director of the School of Education, Counseling, and Human Development. Teacher Education and Educational Administration programs are located in the College of Education and Human Sciences.
