Job Description

Texas A&M University – San Antonio seeks a dynamic faculty member in the early childhood program at Texas A&M University San Antonio. This is a full-time position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The Assistant Professor of Early Childhood position includes teaching, research and service. The position will also be contributing actively to decisions affecting the Department of Educator Leadership and Preparation, as well as the College of Education and Human Development. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Educator and Leadership Preparation.

Required Education and Experience:

• Successful candidates will have an earned doctoral degree from an accredited institution of higher education in the field of early childhood education or a related discipline;

• Scholarly accomplishments commensurate with the rank of Assistant Professor;

• Experience building collaborations with local communities and strengthening education.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Research agenda that emphasizes community engagement

• Experience supporting students with community engagement

• Educational background that supports teaching coursework for Content EC-3 certification

• Evidence of work leading to the transformation of education practices or systems

• Experience working with diverse and interdisciplinary teams of students, professionals and/or stakeholders
