Two years of experience with collaborative research activities in statistical science is required. This should include experience with grant writing, active participation in funded grants, and co-authored publications of collaborative research work.
The Research Assistant Professor of Collaborative Statistics will report to the Chairperson of the Department, who reports to the Dean of the College. The term of appointment is a twelve-month term, beginning each July 1st.
The majority of this appointment will be directed toward collaborative research activities. These will include, but not be limited to grant writing, active participation in grants from other departments and Colleges, discovery and distribution of statistically-related granting opportunities to other departments and Colleges, publication of collaborative research work, and attendance at relevant conferences and meetings.
Assistance will be provided as needed in the coordination of collaborative research activities in the Department involving, but not limited to the supervision of and training for students involved in collaborative research, the coordination of collaborative research grants involving Statistics personnel, instruction for graduate students in collaborative research, and other special duties as assigned by the Department Chairperson.
The position is available immediately. The initial appointment will be for the pro-rated time period through June 30, 2018. Renewal of the appointment will continue by way of one-year contracts and shall be based upon performance and the continued availability of research funds from extramural sources.
