Position Summary
The Department of Life Sciences at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (www.acphs.edu) is seeking candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track assistant professor in microbiology to commence in the Fall of 2024. The primary teaching responsibilities will include courses required by the BS microbiology degree program, courses offered for the MS molecular biosciences degree program, and laboratory sections accompanying our undergraduate microbiology course. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop a research program that, at a minimum, is able to support student research mentoring at both the undergraduate (BS) and graduate (MS) levels. Research complimentary to existing infectious disease work being performed at the College is desirable.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have an PhD in microbiology, immunology, or equivalent experience in a similar field. A demonstrated ability to perform independent research in a relevant field is also expected.
Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have a documented interest in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level that includes prior independent teaching experience.
Physical Demands
Position Salary Range $75,000 annually
