| Posting Text | South Dakota State University Department of Animal Science is offering an exciting career opportunity as an Assistant Professor in Reproductive Physiology with an emphasis in cattle reproduction. Applicants with innovative research programs that complement or expand existing animal science research in the department will be given the highest priority. This is a 9-month, full-time, benefit eligible, tenure-track position. This position is supervised by the Department Head of Animal Science South Dakota State University promotes access to and opportunities for all to receive the benefit of and participate in education, research, and service and is especially interested in candidates that can contribute to this land-grant mission of access. RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of this position are 75% Research, 20% Extension and 5% Teaching. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of an independent and nationally recognized research program in the area of Reproductive Physiology with an emphasis in cattle reproduction. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop a successful Extension program, function effectively on multidisciplinary and multi-species teams, develop collaborative relationships with faculty in the department and across the university, establish a strong relationship with producers and allied industry members, and develop and sustain a successful extramurally funded research program which attracts outstanding graduate students. The successful candidate will also be able to teach and develop classes in their respective discipline as necessary.
