Position Summary
The Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Research (CEPR) seeks to hire a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track faculty member for the Counseling Psychology program, beginning August 19, 2024. The Counseling Psychology program is accredited by the American Psychological Association and emphasizes the development of professional competencies, a balanced scientist-practitioner training model, and the preparation of graduates for a wide variety of clinical and academic settings. The position requires teaching of graduate courses, a significant program of scholarly research, research publications, the pursuit of external funding for research, mentoring of students, supervising research of graduate students, chairing and/or serving on doctoral committees, and participating in national professional organizations as well as university and college committees. The CEPR department and the counseling psychology program are dedicated to fostering a culture and climate of belonging and inclusiveness. CEPR is not offering any sponsorships at this time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Successful candidate will be appointed as a tenure-track faculty member in the department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Research, teach graduate courses in Counseling Psychology and in the Department’s CACREP-accredited Counselor Education program, supervise Counseling Psychology doctoral student research, mentor students, participate in national professional organizations and university and college committees, and maintain an active program of research that includes seeking external funding.

SETTING
The Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Research (CEPR) offers five graduate certificates, five master’s, and three doctoral degrees in its three principal areas. The department’s programs are accredited by the American Psychological Association, and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs. The College of Education, with a faculty of over 65 full-time faculty positions, is fully accredited by CAEP and is a leader in the enhancement of teacher and principal preparation. The College is dedicated to a culture of inclusiveness and prepares students for careers as administrators, counselors, educators, leaders, practitioners, researchers, scholars, and teachers. SALARY & BEGINNING DATE
Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications. The position is a nine month tenure-track appointments with the possibility of teaching in the summer. The anticipated date of appointment is August 19, 2024. The University offers an excellent benefits package, including healthcare and retirement. The state of TN currently has no state income tax and the Memphis area has a very reasonable cost of living.

· Evidence of an emerging research agenda and publication record
· Psychology licensure or license eligibility in the State of Tennessee
