Job Summary:


The University of Kentucky, College of Nursing is seeking a Regular Title Series (tenure-eligible) Assistant Professor. This position is a 12-month appointment with an anticipated initial Distribution of Effort of about 10-15% Teaching and Advising, 75% Research and Scholarly Activity, and 5-10% Service and Professional Development which will be reviewed annually. We anticipate a start date on or after July 1, 2024.
This position is based in Lexington, KY, and will require an individual with expertise that will contribute to the teaching, research and service missions of the College and the University and the research mission of Markey Cancer Center. This includes contributions to the College of Nursing through teaching and mentoring students in the undergraduate and graduate programs; to the College of Nursing and the Markey Cancer Center through the establishment of an independent and nationally recognized program in oncology science and through scholarly activities; and to the college, Center and university through service.
The required education and experience include an earned PhD in nursing, completion of a post- doctoral appointment, and an active license as a registered nurse in Kentucky. The candidate must have grant writing skills and be developing expertise in research design and data analysis. Experience in research should include the following areas: 1) manuscript preparation, submission, and publication; 2) complex population-based research projects that involve both primary and secondary data collection; 3) research protocol oversight; 4) IRB submissions; 5) interdisciplinary collaboration; and 6) data management.
