Job Summary
The University of Kentucky, College of Nursing Undergraduate Program is seeking a UKHC Clinical Faculty of Excellence- Assistant Professor, (tenure-ineligible) Clinical Title Series. This position is a 10-month appointment with an anticipated Distribution of Effort of about 50-70% Teaching and Advising, 0-20% Clinical Practice Activities, 5-10% Research and Scholarly Activity, and 5-10% Service and Professional Development, which will be reviewed annually. The salary range for this position is $75,000-$90,000. This position has established funding from UKHC for one year, with the potential for an extension. We anticipate a start date on or after August 1, 2024.
This position, based in Lexington, KY, will assist in the undergraduate program instruction and includes teaching, advising, mentoring and clinical and simulation practice in the pediatric courses in our BSN and ABSN tracks. This position requires classroom and online instruction, supervision of nursing students in clinical settings, involvement on college committees, scholarship, collaboration with other faculty and staff in nursing education, and membership in professional organizations. Preferred experience with advising and successful teaching of adult students, and possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. The required education and experience include a doctorate degree. Doctorate degree in nursing preferred and a minimum of 2 years of professional nursing experience within the last 5 years required. An active, unencumbered Kentucky RN license is required. Experience in Pediatrics and successful teaching with baccalaureate nursing students experience required.
