General Description / Primary Purpose | The School of Engineering at the University of North Florida (UNF) invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering at the Assistant Professor level, commencing August 2024. The position will strengthen efforts of the legislative Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Initiative (AMMI), which supports the Materials Science and Engineering Research Facility (MSERF), BS in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, and MS in Materials Science and Engineering at UNF. The candidate is expected to collaborate and work collegially with existing faculty and partners in these programs. Additionally, the candidate’s research efforts will be supported through an external endowment, which includes significant laboratory resources, applicable equipment, and funded projects. Exceptional candidates with interests and expertise in all areas of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering may apply, but primary consideration will be given to candidates with a background in process engineer as applied to polymer processing, systems control engineering, sensor development, and machine learning. Preference will be given to candidates with potential to build an independent research program, as well as potential to collaborate with current faculty members. A commitment to excellence in research and teaching will be expected of the successful candidate, along with a willingness to learn.
