Job Summary
The Cleveland State University College of Law invites applications for two (2) full-time Assistant Professor of Law positions for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Law School is open to candidates with expertise in any area of the law, and with an interest in teaching torts, contracts, criminal law, legislation and regulation, constitutional law, and/or evidence.

Duties would begin on August 12, 2024. Duties will include teaching, scholarly research and writing, working with academic centers, and ordinary committee service.
Minimum Qualifications
  • J.D., PhD or equivalent degree with a distinguished academic record. Appropriate terminal degree completed by July 1, 2024. Persons who are ABD will be hired at the rank of Instructor;
  • Evidence of potential for significant scholarly achievement and teaching ability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • J.D., PhD or equivalent degree with outstanding academic record, including law review, judicial clerkship, significant practical experience;
  • Excellent record of scholarly research, including funded research, and publication;
  • Experience and/or interest in developing or teaching online courses and programs;
  • Track record and/or passion for teaching in areas of principal curricular needs: torts, contracts, criminal law, legislation and regulation, constitutional law, and/or evidence;
  • Ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the intellectual and academic diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the university community.
