Position Information | The Organizational Leadership (ORLD) Doctoral Program in the Department of Social Science invites applicants for one full-time, twelve-month, tenure track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate rank, beginning August 2024. Starting salary for the position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The ORLD program is intended for individuals in mid to advanced career stages who hold a master’s degree. The program utilizes a cohort model, where students engage in classes with a small, close knit group of peers. Classes are offered in a weekend format, which enables busy professionals the opportunity to achieve a doctoral degree. The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is the 1890-Land-Grant University in Maryland, located in a rural setting on the Delmarva Peninsula between the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay. UMES is a Historically Black University within the University System of Maryland (https://www.usmd.edu/institutions/). For the past six years, UMES has been ranked in the top tier among America’s Best Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) by U.S. News & World Report. The major metropolitan areas of Washington D.C., Baltimore, MD, and Philadelphia, PA are within easy travel distance. |
Responsibilities | The new faculty member will teach in the mid-career weekend format Organizational Leadership (ORLD) Doctoral Program on the UMES main campus as well as other program sites as needed. As a member of the Department of Social Sciences, the successful candidate will:
Course load will be 5 (3/2 or 2/3 depending on the needs of the department) courses for the academic year. |
