Organizational Unit Overview
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at East Carolina University, College of Allied Health Sciences land offers state-of-the-art facilities with training across four different degree programs (BS, MS, AuD, and PhD). The department supports an array of faculty-directed research programs of which many are supported by extramural grants and/or contracts.
ECU is located in Greenville, North Carolina. The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, College of Allied Health Sciences, is housed in a state-of-the-art building surrounded by the Laupus Library, College of Nursing, Brody School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine and ECU Health.
Job Duties
The Department invites applications for one full time 12-month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor with a proposed start date of January 1, 2024. The faculty member will be an integral part of the doctoral and Master of Science programs. Responsibilities include teaching didactic courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels, establishing and maintaining a dynamic and visible programmatic line of research as evidenced by publications and seeking extramural funding, mentoring student research, and performing service duties.
Candidates for this position with expertise in language disorders, stuttering, literacy, infant & toddler related communication, and/or augmentative and alternative communication are preferred; however, all areas of expertise will be considered.
Minimum Education/Experience
The position requires a PhD in Speech-Language Pathology, Speech-Language and Hearing Sciences, Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution.
Clinical certification in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP) and eligibility for North Carolina licensure is required.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
