Description
The Department of Mathematical Sciences has a full-time contract faculty position as Assistant Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Mathematical Sciences (Mathematics Specialization) beginning August 16, 2024.
Duties include: Teach approximately 12 hours per term of mathematics courses which may include quantitative reasoning, precalculus, calculus, and more advanced courses, depending on Department needs and applicant qualifications. Pursue a program of professional development, and perform service activities for the Department.
Evidence of high-quality teaching, continuing professional development, and significant service are necessary to be eligible for reappointment.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in a mathematical science or closely related field from an accredited institution by date of appointment, with at least 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in mathematics. Effective written and oral communication skills; commitment to excellence in teaching as demonstrated by a teaching statement and/or teaching evaluations.
Authorization to work in the US Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience at the college level in undergraduate classes.
Master’s degree in mathematics by date of appointment. Doctorate degree in mathematics. Experience or interest teaching online.
