JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Pennsylvania State University's Office of General Counsel seeks to hire an Assistant General Counsel that will focus primarily on labor and employment matters.  The successful candidate will work with other attorneys in the office to provide advice, counsel, and representation in a number of subject matter areas including hiring, discipline, termination, pay and benefits as well as labor relations, constitutional law issues, civil rights and other legal and policy issues affecting both faculty and non-faculty employees.  The successful candidate also will advise on the full range of legal issues the University faces, as assigned.

Education and experience:

This job will be filled as an Intermediate Professional.  Minimally requires a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school plus one year of relevant experience.

Applicants must be admitted to the practice of law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or be eligible for prompt admission. The successful candidate must also demonstrate the highest level of integrity and professionalism, possess superior communication skills, and have demonstrated the ability to work in a collegial and professional manner with peers and.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$123,200.00 - $191,000.00
