Job Summary 
  • Coaching responsibilities/duties will be for the specific position group of Running Backs. The Running Backs coach will report to the Offensive Coordinator and the Head Football coach to ensure all duties and assignments are met. 
  • Specific responsibilities of the Running Backs coach will include, but not be limited to: 
  • Recruiting qualified student-athletes for success participation
  • Assisting the Offensive Coordinator in developing an annual offensive playbook and teaching progression.
  • Assisting in developing scouting reports
  • Managing film sessions and meetings; and assisting with monitoring the academic progress of assigned team members. 
  • The Running Backs coach must have a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and must pass the NCAA rules test. 
  • He must demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship and conduct becoming of the coaching profession.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coaching a position group or groups
  • Administrative duties, game week organization and preparation.
  • Video breakdown.
  • Opponent scouting
  • Creating opponent tendency reports.
  • Build and establish recruiting area/region
  • Additional duties may be assigned by the Head Coach or the Director of Athletics including strength and conditioning, academic monitoring and special teams.

Supervision Required/Given
  • The Running Backs coach will report to the Offensive Coordinator and Head Football Coach.

Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Playing experience and/or extensive college coaching/recruiting experience.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to recruit high academic and quality student-athletes 
  • Experience with Hudl is required.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to university, SIAC and NCAA Division II rules and regulations.
