Summary of Job Duties:

The Assistant Finance Director for the Donaghey College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics is responsible for providing financial support to the College. This position will assist the Director of Finance in managing college budgets, including UA Foundation Funds, fee and revenue funds, state-appropriated funds, auxiliary funds, and grants for the College. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • At least two (2) years of experience in higher education or a related work environment;

  • Experience with the Windows Operating System environment;

  • Microsoft Office Suite.


Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors or equivalent degree;

  • Experience with Google products, including Drive, Sheets, and Docs;

  • Experience with the Ellucian Banner (specifically the Finance Module) and Workday;

  • Experience using Adobe Acrobat Pro;

  • Experience using Zoom;

  • UA Foundation accounting system (Blackbaud); and Argos.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain the various budgets of the College and the Office of the Dean, including UA Foundation accounts, state-appropriated funds, revenue funds, grants, and different other designated and auxiliary accounts;

  • Process all financial operations at the college level and for the Office of the Dean, including but not limited to: procurement requests, travel requests, hiring and human resources operations, payroll inquiries and operations, and budget management;

  • Provide support to Director of Finance responsibilities including but not limited to: finance support to chairpersons, directors, faculty, and administrative staff of the College, compiling financial reports, and development of the College’s annual budget;

  • Originates appropriate Workday-related processes/documents for all extra compensation and part-time positions in the College, including graduate assistants, lecturers, hourly labor and work-study, as well as summer teaching and research Workday-related processes/documents for full-time faculty;

  • Processing Workday processes related to budget and finances and ensuring that budgetary support is in place when required;

  • Fill in as temporary financial operations support for the College Departments/Schools in the event of loss of essential administrative personnel;

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills;

  • Ability to handle and oversee multiple projects and tasks at one time;

  • Ability to work as a member of a team;

  • Experience in Higher Education Finance and Administration.
