The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Student Life and Engagement, the Assistant Director, Student Life, Inclusion and Global Awareness, plays a critical role in supporting the academic and community experience at Columbia Business School. The Office of Student Affairs at CBS supports the academic and community experience for 1800 full-time MBA students. The Office of Student Affairs is committed to creating an inclusive environment in which all students feel a sense of belonging, agency and partnership in co-creating their optimal MBA experience. The Office of Student Affairs is composed of two teams that work collaboratively to enhance the MBA experience: Academic Advising & Succes Team and the Student Life & Engagement Team.
As a member of the Office of Student Affairs, this role contributes to various student programs, serves as an advisor for student leaders, supports diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts and supports the international student community. The Assistant Director of Student Life, Inclusion and Global Awareness is a key collaborator for the office, working closely with stakeholders across Columbia Business School and Columbia University, including, but not limited to: Admissions, Financial Aid, Career Management, the DEI Initiative, The Jerome A. Chazen Institute for Global Business, the Columbia University International Students and Scholars Office, Columbia Global Centers, Columbia Global Travel and the Office of University Life.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor???s degree and/or its equivalent required. Minimum of 2-4 years??? experience required, preferably in higher education advising or administration.
Applicant must have strong interpersonal skills, fluency in Microsoft Office, experience in project management and leading teams. Absolute attention to detail is required. Evenings, weekends, and early morning hours are sometimes necessary.
Cultural competency, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities and projects in a high-volume service-oriented environment is essential for a successful Assistant Director.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also necessary. The ability to exercise discretion and judgment in confidential matters is required. The candidate must be a proven team player, able to work cooperatively in small groups or independently with minimal supervision; demonstrates ability to build and establish relationships with a diverse student body, faculty, and administration. Openness to feedback while maintaining a growth, learning, and change-positive mindset is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
Master???s Degree and/or its equivalent is preferred. Background in international student services, advising, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Social Justice Education, Higher Education Administration, and/or MBA programs.
