The College of Professional Studies (CPS) seeks an outstanding individual to serve as Assistant Director, Recruitment and Admissions to support the recruitment of prospective students. This position reports to the Associate Director, Recruitment and Admissions.
The role of the Assistant Director is to assist, guide, and nurture prospective students from interest to completing an admission application. This position actively contributes to the development of strategic and tactical recruitment strategies, which are developed collaboratively with the Associate Director of Recruitment and Admissions and with the Program Director(s). This position provides important insights and recommendations, based on recruitment data and experience, for achieving the annual enrollment goals.
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Coordinates and holds information sessions and assigned visits for prospective students in collaboration with recruitment leadership and program directors.
  • Works with the Admissions team to ensure the smooth transitioning of prospects to submitted applicants.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

The position requires travel for recruiting events (both regional and domestic U.S.). This primary office is at GW’s Alexandria Education Center, located in Alexandria, VA. This is a hybrid position, meaning some days will be in the office and some days remote.
Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in college/university recruitment and/or program marketing is strongly desired.
  • 1+ year of experience in college/university admissions and/or enrollment management is highly desired.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing software.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills including strong presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM/CMS database and application software (preference for Salesforce and Target X).
  • Experience in a higher education environment, especially recruitment is strongly preferred.
Typical Hiring Range $44,630.84 - $61,410.65 How is pay for new employees determined at GW?
