Job Description

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, PROSPECT RESEARCH, Resource Development-Prospect Development, to contribute to the fundraising efforts of the Institute by collecting, analyzing, and disseminating information to direct and inform solicitation and engagement strategies for prospective donors. Prospect Development promotes a culture of donor-centric fundraising in order to build meaningful donor relationships and strong philanthropic connections to the Institute. Will supervise and lead a team of prospect research analysts supporting the Institute's fundraising efforts by providing strategic information on MIT's key philanthropic prospects, developing strategic relationships with the team's fundraising partners, and conducting regional analyses of the key fundraising markets.


Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; at least two years' development research experience; supervisory experience; excellent organizational, planning, problem-solving, analytical, time and project management, interpersonal, and communication skills; sound judgment and discretion with confidential information; proficiency with Apple computers and standard applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom, Slack, Confluence, and Dropbox); and experience with on-line databases (e.g., Lexis Nexis, Dunn and Bradstreet). Must be able to analyze and synthesize information, particularly to evaluate and interpret financial data and individual wealth indicators; manage multiple projects with attention to accuracy quality, detail, and time sensitivity in a complex, fast-paced setting; take initiative and anticipate consequences of actions, potential problems, or opportunities for change; collaborate, build relationships, and achieve results within a population that may possess competing interests, opinions, and/or expectations; interact with others for the purpose of soliciting information and prioritizing work assignments; and work independently and collaboratively in a service- and team-oriented environment.
