Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm


Additional Department Summary: The Assistant Director of Payroll is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the HRIS group. Partners with the Executive Director HRIS & Payroll and the other Assistant Director of Payroll to ensure effective, efficient and compliant use of HR information systems in support of human resources management and payroll processing and use of data for analysis and reporting. Identifies opportunities to enhance use of existing systems to deliver operational excellence. Reviews and analyzes payroll processes and procedures; identifies and recommends system and procedural changes and payroll processor training to promote consistency and increase business efficiencies. Collaborates with other areas of Human Resources and Office of Information Technology staff regarding system enhancements, integrations and interfaces.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years of accounting, payroll, or bookkeeping experience and use of a complex automated payroll system.


Preferred Qualifications: Experience with contemporary Human Resource Information Systems including in Payroll in a Higher Education Institution. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP). Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business or related field from an accredited institution and a minimum of four years experience in a complex environment. Experience with Banner HCM.
