Job Summary
This position is responsible for external operations and general project management under the supervision of the Director of Parking.
Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communication Oversee process for marketing, communicating, and informing the campus community of upcoming improvements and departmental developments. Assist with developing and improving webpage. Write, edit, and distribute mass emails for parking customer notifications and business. Respond to complex and escalated inquiries from in-office personnel and campus clients to clarify information on departmental services, policies, and procedures. Review client feedback, identify problems and trends, and suggest resolutions to the Director of Parking.
  • Project Management Coordinate special projects such as the adoption of new parking technology. Review, analyze, and assess accuracy and efficiency of Parking Department programs, services, and processes. Review rules/regulations content and updates. Evaluate information pertaining to signage, surface, meters, lighting, and parking facilities. Oversee management and administration of T2 Flex (parking database). Maintain, create, and update departmental standards and policies. Demonstrate the ability to make data-informed decisions to contribute to facilities updates and improvements in coordination with the Facilities Manager.
  • Supervision Supervise the Enforcement/Dispatch supervisors while maintaining a thorough understanding of University, Civil Service, and Union policies including the contract negotiation process. Track employee performance, address performance compliments and complaints. Coach employees through evolving circumstances, best practices, customer service. Backup and oversee the following as necessary - Dispatch, daily Cash Report, database reporting, and facilities report maintenance. Serve as backup for Director of Parking as needed.
  • Research and recommend implementation of updated technologies and processes throughout department. Maintains proficiency in departmental software and databases, such as T2, Banner, meter payment apps.
  • Acts as liaison and ambassador to other campus units, and serves on a representative on campus or external committees as needed. Serve as Ethics Officer for department.
  • Assist with annual budget review and forecast process. Assess monthly financial reports and provide insight.

  • This job is performed in a normal office setting, with some travel about campus for meetings and review of outside services and facilities.

    Specialty Factors
    1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.
    2. Three years of professional business, financial and/or managerial work experience, to include project management and supervision, in a work setting of parking, transportation, facilities or a related area.
    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Experience in performance management, training, and conflict resolution within a unionized environment
    2. 5 years of leadership experience in parking or transportation industries.
    3. Supervisory experience over a multi-level operation
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Project management and training skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
    • Strong Business Acumen
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to lead in a diverse environment
    • Knowledge of P-3 parking operations
    • Preferred working knowledge and experience in T2 Flex
    Appointment Information
    This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5010 - Business/Administrative Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 2/16/2024. Work for this position will be expected to work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus on a full-time basis per the University's Workplace Flexibility policy. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. The target salary for this position is $65,000 per year. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
